Position Overview

Peraton is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to contribute to our innovative projects in space-based infrastructure. This role is critical in enhancing our technological capabilities and ensuring the successful delivery of advanced systems that support national security and defense initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and implementation of systems engineering processes to optimize performance and reliability of space-based systems.
  • Assess and propose enhancements to existing engineering frameworks to improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for technology evaluations, providing insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Contribute to project management schedules and take responsibility for specific engineering tasks.
  • Utilize sound judgment to identify and mitigate risks that may affect project delivery and resource management.
  • Act as a technical representative in resolving complex engineering challenges and fostering innovative solutions.
  • Proactively identify and address potential technical obstacles to maintain project timelines and quality standards.
  • Minimal travel may be required (< 10%).
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience; or a minimum of 6 years with a Master's degree; or 3 years with a PhD. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Candidate must possess a Top-Secret clearance with the capability to upgrade to TS/SCI and undergo a polygraph as required.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and support of systems engineering processes throughout the system lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, integration, testing, and configuration.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a technical field.
  • Experience within the Intelligence Community focusing on systems engineering.
  • Hands-on experience in software or hardware integration roles.
  • Knowledge of defensive space control strategies and mission assurance.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise and System Architecture principles.
  • Experience with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Understanding of Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies.
  • Experience with software-centric systems.
  • Possession of SAFe certification or familiarity with the Scaled Agile Framework.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively engage with stakeholders.

Salary Range:

$112,000 - $179,000, reflecting the standard compensation scale for this role based on experience and qualifications.
