Responsibilities:- Code hospital records, physician notes, and ancillary records with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Assign modifiers and sequence codes to reflect services provided.
- Gather and verify demographic information, including insurance information and eligibility.
- Process daily billing and complete statistics as required.
- Assist with coding and billing duties as needed.
- Obtain medical information from physicians and hospitals to validate correct coding.
- Perform data entry and review billing and coding reports.
- Respond to inquiries from physicians and management.
- Ensure medical records are complete and forward to appropriate departments.
- High school diploma or GED; Associate's degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of related experience.
- Certification in Professional Coding (CPC) is preferred.
- Surgical coding and coding modifiers experience is a plus.
