Security Installer
We are seeking a skilled Security Installer to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a Security Installer, you will be responsible for the installation of complex integrated security systems, including wiring, equipment, and programming of access control systems, CCTV, digital recorders, network recorders, and intercom systems for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Install cabling, field equipment, and control equipment enclosures in customer locations according to national electric code, company, and customer guidelines.
- Use electronic test equipment to solve complicated problems during installation.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
- Securely configure IP addresses, subnet masks, and gateways on customer's network.
- Readjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment, and test for operation.
- Set up virtual LANs to separate traffic into smaller, more manageable units.
- Provide desktop support for customers and JCI, including installation and configuration of software and hardware, remote monitoring and programming of various systems, and maintenance and troubleshooting of software and hardware.
- Configure servers and workstations and domain credentials, IP address, and remote desktop.
- Perform system checks for proper operation.
- Knowledge of computer programs, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; CCTV and access control systems; media storage.
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work, paying close attention to details.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, while establishing and maintaining coordinated working relationships.
- Ability to analyze information.
- Can work unsupervised to complete installation jobs and is self-motivated to complete jobs.
- Completes and submits all necessary paperwork related to job assignments.
- Capable of using hand and power tools to properly mount and secure equipment.
- Conduct end-user training.
- Ability to isolate trouble to a customer network, where applicable.
Requirements
- Significant background (min 5-year experience) in digital and analog camera systems.
- Significant background (min 5-year experience) in access control systems and burglar alarm systems.
- Must have experience with access control and burglar systems.
- Understanding of the function and design of alarm systems.
- Experience with IP addressable security devices (min 2 years).
- Must be computer literate, including advanced TCP/IP networking skills.
- Must be able to operate a company truck with an acceptable driving record.
- Is proficient with all aspects and operation of ADT A.I. core card access, CCTV systems.
- Associate degree or 2-year technical school program graduate is highly preferred. An apprenticeship or industry work experience could be substituted for educational requirements.
- Knowledge of fire alarm systems.
- Must have programming experience.

C-Cure, Honeywell, ADT Access Control Software, Access Control Systems, Camera Systems, Card Access Systems, Intruder Alarms, and Surveillance Systems.
