Position Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Department: Operations

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Spectrum Management, LLC has been a trusted provider in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area for over 23 years, offering a wide range of services including construction management, facilities operations and maintenance, as well as real estate development. We are currently looking for a dedicated Maintenance Mechanic to ensure the functionality and safety of commercial building machinery and mechanical systems at our various sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial building systems such as water heaters, pumps, generators, compressors, and HVAC systems.
  • Conduct minor plumbing and electrical repairs as needed.
  • Identify issues by observing mechanical devices in operation and utilizing precision measuring tools.
  • Repair electrical appliances and replace defective fixtures.
  • Dismantle devices to remove and replace faulty components.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks efficiently.
  • Respond promptly to service requests with professionalism.
  • Deliver high-quality service to the public, addressing requests directly or referring as appropriate.
  • Request necessary supplies and materials for maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct inspections of facilities and machinery to ensure optimal operation.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years in commercial facility operations and maintenance.
  • 3+ years of experience in operating, maintaining, or repairing electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or plumbing systems, or equivalent education.
  • Experience in troubleshooting system issues and interpreting blueprints.
  • Familiarity with CMMS/BAS systems is preferred.
  • CFC Certification is mandatory.

Competencies:

  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on departmental needs.
  • Effective communication skills with diverse individuals in various situations.
  • Capability to assess customer needs and ensure service delivery.
  • Prompt and efficient service orientation.
  • Sound judgment in decision-making and information release.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and retrieval in maintenance tracking systems.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required.

Physical Requirements:

This role involves frequent standing, walking, and lifting (up to 50 lbs). Manual dexterity is essential for operating cleaning equipment and performing maintenance tasks.
