The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Test Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Structural Dynamics and Environments Department, you will provide expertise in dynamic environments and environmental test to support the Missile Defense Agency and other customers.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and procedures for structural dynamics and environmental testing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate system design options and performance tradeoffs
- Provide technical assessments of shock, vibration, and acoustic qualification status for vehicle components and subsystems
- Participate in design reviews, test readiness reviews, and failure review boards
- Lead and coordinate teams of technical contributors to deliver high-quality results
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, such as mechanical or aerospace engineering
- Minimum 8 years of industry-related experience in structural mechanics engineering
- Strong technical leadership skills and familiarity with analytical and test techniques for shock, vibration, and acoustics environments
- Experience with applying, editing, tailoring, and maintaining shock, vibration, and acoustics environmental standards
- Ability to build and lead interdisciplinary teams and foster effective interpersonal relationships
- Advanced degree in a STEM field or related discipline
- Experience with Missile Defense Agency customer programs
- Familiarity with SMC-S-016 and other military test standards
The Aerospace Corporation offers a competitive compensation package, including a grade-based pay range of $117,300 - $226,900. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health care and wellness plans, paid holidays and time off, and a 401(k) plan with company matching contributions.
