Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacogenomics Specialist to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing expert pharmacogenomics services to patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide pharmacokinetic consultation and guidance to healthcare providers on medication selection and dosing.
  • Evaluate patient response to drug therapy and make recommendations for optimal treatment.
  • Develop and implement pathways, best practices, and guidelines for pharmacogenomics services.
  • Educate healthcare providers, patients, and other stakeholders on pharmacogenomics principles and applications.
  • Mentor and train residents, students, and new staff on pharmacogenomics services.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or equivalent.
  • Completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency or 3 years of related specialty experience.
  • Current Pharmacy license in the state of practice.
  • Strong leadership and teaching skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of a PGY2 Specialty Pharmacy Residency.
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Pharmacogenomics or related field.

The Clinical Pharmacogenomics Specialist will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, collaborating with healthcare providers, patients, and other stakeholders to provide expert pharmacogenomics services. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
