About the Job

The Senior Audit Associate will play a key role in demonstrating advanced accounting and auditing skills, as well as a comprehensive understanding of tax responsibilities. This individual will supervise engagement teams, work independently, and interact with clients on a regular basis, responsible for most stages of the engagement.

Core Competencies
  • Client Service: Provide exceptional service to clients, understanding their business, industry, products, services, and internal controls to develop suggestions for improvements.
  • Comprehensive understanding of client's business: Develop a deep understanding of client's business, industry, products, services, and internal controls to provide valuable insights.
  • Effective communication: Communicate effectively with clients in writing and orally, providing clear and concise information.
  • Engagement management: Manage engagements effectively and efficiently from planning to wrap-up, meeting and exceeding client expectations and deadlines.
Expertise and Technical Skills
  • Advanced accounting skills: Demonstrate advanced accounting skills, including analysis of complex accounts and account relationships, knowledge of accounting pronouncements, and preparation of complex financial statements.
  • Knowledge of tax laws: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of latest relevant accounting and auditing pronouncements, as well as general knowledge of tax laws.
  • Ability to audit high-risk components: Audit high-risk components of an audit engagement, design audit programs relevant to engagement risks, and produce clear and concise written communications.
Firm Economics and Business Growth
  • Efficient methodologies: Identify efficient methodologies and best practices, applying them on future engagements.
  • Scope of work and engagement budgets: Be aware of the scope of work and engagement budgets, proactively communicating potential issues to managers and partners as necessary.
  • Business relationships: Attend meetings and become active in outside organizations appropriate to the Senior Associate level, building business relationships.
Team Member Development
  • Clear communication: Clearly communicate performance expectations to team members.
  • Quality on-the-job training: Provide quality on-the-job training and constructive, fair feedback in a timely manner.
  • Delegate effectively: Delegate appropriately based on risk, engagement status, and staff developmental opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Motivated and organized: Be motivated, have the ability to multi-task, and be organized.
  • Excellent communication skills: Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience and education: Have 3+ years of public accounting experience, a B.A./B.S. degree in Accounting, and a CPA license (preferred).
