Senior Systems Engineer

VTG is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Tucson, AZ. As a key member of our Surface Missile Technical Representative (Tech Rep) Office, you will provide systems engineering support to various program offices, including IWS 3, IWS-11, IWS-12, and AEGIS BMD.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support for surface weapon test equipment and production test equipment.
- Develop and maintain systems engineering documentation, including planning, presentation, and follow-up materials.
- Assess and evaluate test equipment life cycle support plans and provide recommendations.
- Monitor and verify progress of demonstrations and certifications, and provide recommendations for hardware diagnoses and failure investigations.
- Evaluate and propose cost, schedule, and technical impacts for test equipment upgrades and system enhancements.
- Review and assess system engineering and test equipment documentation for Failure Review Boards, Change Control Boards, Design Reviews, and Peer Reviews.
- Support the development and execution of tests to ensure system hardware and software meet documented requirements.
- Collaborate with designers and integration engineers to identify, analyze, and resolve operating/hardware system problems.
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology and participate in special projects as required.
- Generate technical reports, white papers, and presentations as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM quantitative field.
- 5-10 years of professional experience in Systems Engineering, with varying levels of experience from Entry to Senior.
- Experience with modern missile design preferred.
- Knowledge of systems engineering principles, methods, and techniques.
- Knowledge of associated hardware, software, and equipment preferred.
- Professional certification in one or more specific technologies may be required, depending on job assignment.
- Good understanding of technology and computing tools, including Product Data Management (PDM) tools, SAP, or similar.
- The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
- Required knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and/or other pertinent software applications.
- Must have active DoD SECRET Clearance and the ability to sustain one or the preferred, DoD TOP SECRET.
- Any Naval Surface Weapons Test Equipment and Production Test Equipment systems experience.
- Experience with IWS 3, IWS-11, IWS-12, and AEGIS BMD.
- Prior Ballistic Missile Defense experience.
