Position Overview

The HVAC Service Specialist reports directly to the Service Manager and is tasked with executing a variety of HVACR responsibilities for industrial, commercial, and residential clients.

This role requires a professional who is decisive, reliable, and possesses strong communication skills to interact effectively with various customer demographics. The HVAC Service Specialist must demonstrate the ability to accurately diagnose issues and efficiently complete tasks to benefit both the client and the organization. Typical interactions will involve service customers, fellow technicians, the Service Manager, Dispatchers, and Parts Runners. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating as part of the Service Department teams to perform HVACR service tasks in a timely and effective manner.
  • Executing routine HVACR service operations independently.
  • Engaging in point-of-work sales for Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) services, unit components, replacements, add-on units, and residential service agreements.
  • Generating lead referrals for the sales team.
  • Assisting with non-service tasks in support of the IAQ and Installation Departments as required.
  • Carrying out additional duties as assigned by the Service Manager.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma and completion of a post-secondary HVACR training program lasting two years or more.
  • A minimum of one year of successful experience as a service or installation technician.
  • Strong verbal and reading comprehension skills, including the ability to interpret manufacturers' instructions and communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • Physical capability to perform all outlined duties under various conditions, including extreme weather typical in Texas.
  • Motivation to enhance and maintain HVACR skills through self-directed learning, company training, manufacturer workshops, and other professional development opportunities.
  • Possession of a valid Texas operator's license and the ability to operate all vehicles in the corporate fleet within 30 days of starting employment. The incumbent must also be insurable by the current insurance provider.
