This role is crucial in directing maintenance operations on electrical and mechanical systems, particularly in conveying and sorting technologies within the fast-growing logistics sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership:
- Supervise the maintenance personnel at the distribution facility.
- Distribute job assignments, utilizing expertise and judgment to meet departmental objectives.
- Offer individualized coaching and guidance to team members, ensuring excellence in performance.
Operational Oversight:
- Establish standards and procedures for work, providing insights on discrepancies in work orders.
- Guarantee adherence to company and client regulations, policies, and protocols.
- Monitor relevant codes, standards, and specifications applicable to equipment and processes.
- Design and execute quality assurance and quality control inspection protocols for personnel and tasks.
Communication:
- Serve as a conduit between the maintenance team, Account Manager, Planners, Clients, and Departments.
- Encourage positive relationships with customers and employees.
- Engage with team members to facilitate the establishment of both short-term and long-term objectives.
Performance Management:
- Ensure that the Maintenance department meets its goals and key performance indicators.
- Fulfill performance expectations outlined in evaluations.
- Exhibit leadership and sound judgment in decision-making processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering, Management, or a related discipline (preferred) along with relevant management experience (minimum of 3 years; 5 years preferred).
- Experience in reporting Key Performance Metrics (KPI) for a team of 10-15 individuals.
- Familiarity with repairs and preventive/predictive maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Competence in using basic and power tools, shop mathematics, pneumatics, power transmission, parts nomenclature, measurements, and fasteners.
- Ability to operate and knowledge of both simple and complex heavy industrial machinery (e.g., forklifts, scissors lifts, and boom lifts).
- Willingness to work various shifts, including holidays and weekends, as required by operational needs. All Assistant Maintenance Managers will work 4x12 shifts.
