Job Summary

Merrimack College seeks a skilled Building Maintenance worker to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing journeyman-level maintenance and repairs on campus buildings, fixtures, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
  • Respond to work orders and requests from supervisors and other departments.
  • Assist with snow and ice removal, grounds maintenance, and equipment deliveries.
  • Monitor and reset alarm, heat, light, and power utilities to ensure proper operation.
  • Maintain the appearance and operational hardware of buildings through litter removal, graffiti removal, and janitorial duties.
  • Initiate work orders for tasks that require attention or specialized services.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Five years of related building maintenance experience.
  • General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and locksmith trades.
  • Ability to read blueprints and maintain accurate logbooks.
  • Knowledge of power tools and valid driver's license.
  • Valid hoisting license or willingness to obtain.
