About the Role

As an Apprentice with Carrier, you will play a critical role in ensuring customer comfort and satisfaction. You will have the opportunity to learn Commercial HVAC and work on various installations, repairs, and maintenance projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about their trade and looking to take their skills to the next level.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and maintain air-conditioning units for efficient operation
  • Perform regular maintenance on heating and cooling units
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions
  • Install, replace, or repair damaged equipment; calibrate thermostatic controls
  • Install new heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems; repair and replace damaged or worn heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning parts and equipment
  • Inspect and observe pressure of liquids and vapor with instrumentation to ensure efficient operation of unit and make necessary adjustments
  • Maintain chilled and hot water supply systems
  • Adjust and maintain internal electrical and electronic control systems; clean coils, blowers, check motors, and belt tensions
  • Assemble and install metal ductwork
  • Assist in planning and designing new installations of heating and air-conditioning systems
  • Maintain maintenance records as required by City, State, and EPA regulations
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required
  • Recognize and identify potential risks and hazards associated with performing all work-related duties safely
  • Work to mitigate potential risks associated with essential duties
  • Collaborate with management personnel to maintain safe working environments
Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • A minimum of 3+ years of practical working experience in the HVAC Industry
  • A valid driver's license is required
  • Ability to enter into the Union Apprentice Program or currently enrolled
  • Push/pull/lift up to 50lbs
