Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care Coordinator to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our Respiratory Care Department, you will play a critical role in planning, developing, and implementing high-quality Respiratory Care programs and education for our inpatient and outpatient staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement education programs for Respiratory Therapy and Pulmonary Care staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Coordinate and facilitate pulmonary function screenings and out-patient clinic follow-up programs for patients with asthma, COPD, and sleep disorders.
  • Collaborate with managers, physicians, and patient care staff to identify and resolve Respiratory and Pulmonary Care system issues.
  • Act as a resource to staff regarding Blood Gas Lab education, troubleshooting, implementation, workflow, and orientation.
  • Develop and maintain quality programs to ensure optimal operation of instruments and data management systems.
Requirements
  • Minimum one (1) year of Respiratory Care experience required.
  • Graduate of an approved 2-year Respiratory Care Accrediting Board (RCAB) approved school, or 2-year Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) school.
  • Bachelors degree in respiratory care, or health/business care administration or management OR a minimum four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
  • Basic Life Support - Instructor OR Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner License (California) and Registered Respiratory Therapist Certificate from National Board of Respiratory Care required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Respiratory Care experience in an acute care setting preferred.
  • Recent experience facilitating performance improvement projects and experience planning, coordinating and implementing programs preferred.
  • Training in pulmonary functions, sleep disorders, and asthma education preferred.
  • Recent experience in patient education in respiratory disease and sleep disorders preferred.
