Job Title: Center Manager

Job Summary:

The Center Manager is responsible for the overall management and operation of the Early Head Start Program. This includes supervising staff, implementing policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and state childcare licensing requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the Early Head Start Program goals, objectives, and expected outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the EHS Director, Program Managers, teachers, and center staff to ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and state childcare licensing requirements.
  • Supervise and evaluate assigned center staff, including conducting daily observations and monitoring children's screenings and assessments.
  • Implement the CACFP program, including monitoring daily meal service, documentation, and reporting.
  • Assure compliance with health and safety guidelines, including staff-child ratios and daily attendance.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Early Head Start and HR Director to implement personnel policies and procedures, including background checks and hiring, evaluation, compensation, and termination procedures.
  • Develop and implement a training and professional development plan for all center staff.
  • Support the Onboarding process and maintain strict confidentiality regarding all personnel actions, legal actions, terminations, and non-renewal documents.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Family and Human Development or equivalent in a related field.
  • Three plus years' experience working in an administrative capacity in an education setting with at least three years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience in Human Resources management and operations and the use of management information systems with Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of childcare licensing and CACFP guidelines and implementation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Valid Driver's License, Personal Vehicle, and Liability Insurance required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Education Curriculum & Instruction or Administrator's Certification.
  • Five plus years' experience working in an administrative capacity in an educational setting with five years of supervisory experience.
  • Significant experience in educational administration, with knowledge and skills in finance and human resources.
  • Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and Child Care Minimum Standards.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish).
