Job Title: Center Director

Urban Strategies is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Center Director to lead our Early Head Start Program in Hidalgo, TX.

About the Role

The Center Director will be responsible for the overall management and operation of the center, ensuring compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards and state childcare licensing requirements. This includes supervising center staff, implementing human resources policies and procedures, and collaborating with the EHS Director and Program Managers to achieve program goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the Early Head Start Program, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and regulations.
  • Supervise and evaluate assigned center staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality services.
  • Collaborate with the EHS Director and Program Managers to develop and implement parent engagement activities, including parent meetings, open house, and parent/teacher conferences.
  • Implement personnel policies and procedures, including background checks, hiring, evaluation, compensation, and termination procedures.
  • Develop and maintain a training and professional development plan for center staff, ensuring compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards and state childcare licensing requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Family and Human Development or equivalent in a related field.
  • Three plus years' experience working in an administrative capacity in an education setting, with at least three years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience in Human Resources management and operations, and the use of management information systems.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of childcare licensing, CACFP guidelines, and implementation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Education Curriculum & Instruction or Administrator's Certification.
  • Five plus years' experience working in an administrative capacity in an educational setting, with five years of supervisory experience.
  • Significant experience in educational administration, with knowledge and skills in finance and human resources.
