Key Responsibilities:
- Site Oversight:
- Oversee all on-site construction activities and personnel, including subcontractors, laborers, and tradespeople.
- Ensure compliance with blueprints, specifications, and building regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections to assess progress, quality of work, and adherence to safety standards.
- Coordinate the delivery of materials and ensure efficient resource utilization on-site.
- Leadership & Management:
- Facilitate daily site meetings to discuss work progress, scheduling, and safety protocols.
- Guide and develop site personnel, promoting a collaborative and effective work environment.
- Address any on-site conflicts or challenges that arise, ensuring minimal disruption to the project timeline.
- Project Coordination:
- Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to create and maintain the construction schedule, making adjustments as needed to meet deadlines.
- Work with subcontractors and other trades to ensure tasks are completed in the correct order.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and inspectors.
- Carpentry Tasks:
- Execute various carpentry duties, including framing, installation of doors, windows, cabinetry, and finishing work.
- Ensure all carpentry tasks comply with building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
- Inspect completed work to verify it meets quality expectations and specifications.
- Identify and resolve any issues that arise during the construction process.
- Quality Assurance:
- Oversee all aspects of quality assurance on-site, ensuring that all work meets or exceeds client expectations and industry standards.
- Identify and rectify any deficiencies or issues in workmanship, materials, or safety.
- Safety Oversight:
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and ensure all site personnel are trained in and follow safety guidelines.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and site inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Maintain all necessary safety documentation and incident reports.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Keep accurate daily logs, reports, and records of site activities, including labor, materials, and equipment used.
- Report progress, delays, and any issues to the Project Manager and General Superintendent promptly.
- Ensure that all necessary permits and inspections are obtained and documented.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of construction experience, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
- Demonstrated experience in managing commercial and/or residential construction projects from inception to completion.
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certifications & Licenses:
- OSHA certification or other relevant safety training.
- Valid driver's license.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and on different types of terrain.
- Capable of lifting heavy materials and working at heights.
- Physically fit to perform the duties of a superintendent foreman.
