Job Title: Lead Electrical Power Engineer

MPR Associates, a leading engineering and consulting firm, is seeking a highly skilled Lead Electrical Power Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our electrical power systems team, you will be responsible for leading complex electrical power system analysis and design efforts, including coaching and mentoring other engineers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and lead electrical power system analysis and design efforts, including coaching and mentoring other engineers.
  • Engage with clients, including engineering, management, maintenance, and quality team members.
  • Perform AC and DC electrical power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, protective device coordination, and transient stability studies.
  • Evaluate and calculate compliance with applicable NERC, ISO, and NRC regulations.
  • Design, procure, test, and install excitation systems and voltage regulation systems for synchronous machines.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Master of Science, Electrical Engineering (MSEE) degree from an ABET-accredited university.
  • At least 5 years of work experience in the field of electrical power systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with a fundamental understanding of the underlying first principles of engineering.
  • Familiarity with industrial design standards, codes, and regulations, including IEEE standards and NERC regulations.
  • Experience using electrical analysis tools, such as MATLAB, ETAP, EMTPRV, PSCAD, and ANSYS.
