Job Overview

Currin Outdoor Living is seeking a skilled Outdoor Living Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our crew, you will play a vital role in crafting exceptional outdoor living spaces across the Triangle area. Collaborating closely with designers and operational experts, you will help bring clients' visions to life, whether it's a small urban space or a large 5-acre plot.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the construction and maintenance of outdoor living spaces, including patios, decks, and walkways.
  • Operate various landscaping equipment, such as lawn mowers and trimmers, to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Work closely with the design team to ensure that projects meet clients' expectations and are completed on time.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to stay up-to-date on the latest industry trends and best practices.
Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis.
  • Ability to bend and stoop on a continual basis.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work around bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns, and other environmental risks.
  • Ability to follow oral instructions from the Foreman or Crew Leader.
  • Must wear work boots, Currin Outdoor Living uniforms, and present yourself in a clean and polite manner.
  • Must practice safety with chemicals and equipment.
  • Must wear company-provided eye and ear protection as required.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record; ability to drive.
  • Must comply with Currin's policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Benefits
  • Starting pay of $12-16 per hour.

Work Environment

The physical demands of this position include being exposed to various outdoor conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and humidity. You will encounter fluctuating weather patterns and work in both wet and dry environments. This role also involves frequent exposure to high noise levels from equipment and machinery, as well as vibrations from the use of power tools.

Additional environmental exposures include:

  • Proximity to moving mechanical parts, such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and other landscaping equipment.
  • Potential exposure to electrical hazards, particularly when working near or with electrical systems (e.g., lighting or irrigation systems).
  • Atmospheric conditions, such as dust, pollen, and fumes from machinery, fertilizers, or chemicals, requiring proper safety measures.
  • Risk of electrical shock when using certain power tools or working around electrical systems.
  • Working on or near wet, slippery surfaces, or uneven terrain, which may increase the risk of slips and falls.
  • Bee stings and other bug bites.
