Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Mid Michigan Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Triage patient calls and schedule urgent/emergent add-ons, receive and relay test results, and support patients with consults and/or testing and insurance pre-certification and documentation.
  • Greet patients and/or family, perform routine pre-examination procedures, including vital signs, assessing and recording objective and subjective data concerning presenting conditions, and update and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Assist providers with examinations and procedures, prepare and clean the patient area, set up equipment, clean and facilitate room set up after a procedure, and dispose of contaminated supplies and sterilize medical instruments.
  • Provide complete patient assessment, perform patient care measures, including injections, minor dressing changes, and obtaining blood specimens, and assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and co-workers.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 3 months of hire or transfer.
  • Medical Assistant certification (RMA, CMA, or equivalent) required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
  • Knowledge of medical office policies, practices, and procedures, and ability to maintain confidentiality and ensure patient rights in accordance with HIPAA.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, and postural changes, as well as occasional lifting or carrying of 11-20 pounds. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
