Job Summary

Cayuga Health System is seeking a highly skilled Medical Office Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our medical staff, ensuring the smooth operation of our office, and delivering exceptional patient care.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to medical staff, including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling correspondence.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of patient records, including demographic information, medical history, and treatment plans.
  • Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and visitors, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical office setting, with a focus on administrative support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMRs) and practice management software.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of adaptability and flexibility.
