Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and lead design, analysis, integration, testing, and documentation of mechanical hardware of advanced complexity.
  • Lead design efforts and teams, including mentoring of junior engineers.
  • Develop and lead hardware engineering requirements capture, analysis, and creation for advanced complexity components of mechanical designs.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure mechanical design is appropriate for the project/product design approach.
  • Lead cross-functional team efforts in integration and test of completed designs and sub-systems.
  • Drive improvement to processes and tools during development of hardware.
  • Make design and team decisions in day-to-day job responsibilities.
  • Report and manage status relating to technical performance, cost, and schedule for assigned scope of work.
  • Present design and project material for customer reviews and meetings.
Requirements:
  • Experience with technical design documentation, including mechanical assemblies, fabrication drawings, parts lists, weldments, and installation drawings.
  • Experience with traditional sheet metal fabrication, machined parts, and weldments is a must.
  • Proficient with Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling, part, and assembly drawings.
  • Proficient utilizing MS Office Applications/Office 365.
  • Preferred experience with AutoCAD Software and Training Simulator Engineering design experience.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience, or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued secret security clearance or higher is required prior to start date.
