Position Overview:

The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Instructor at InsideHigherEd is responsible for delivering high-quality educational experiences in both laboratory and clinical settings. This role emphasizes the importance of maintaining curriculum integrity, fostering student achievement, and advancing the mission of the institution.

Key Responsibilities:

The EMS Instructor will:

  • Deliver effective instruction in lab and clinical environments, ensuring students develop the necessary skills as per national standards.
  • Support the educational objectives set forth by the EMS Program Director and collaborate with fellow faculty members.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students, assisting them in mastering essential competencies.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and attire, representing the institution positively.
  • Document student progress and communicate any concerns regarding attendance or performance to the appropriate faculty.
Qualifications:

Applicants must possess:

  • A valid EMT-Paramedic or EMT-Advanced license.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant clinical or field experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with educational technology platforms.
Preferred Attributes:

While not mandatory, an Associate's Degree is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to student success and a flexible teaching approach that accommodates diverse learning styles.

Work Environment:

This position involves both indoor and outdoor responsibilities, requiring the instructor to engage actively with students in various settings. Physical demands include the ability to lift and move equipment, as well as the capacity to communicate effectively with individuals and groups.
