Heavy Equipment Operator

Finley Buttes Landfill, a leading waste management company in Oregon, seeks a highly skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. As a critical member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our heavy equipment fleet.
Estimated Salary: $25.12/hour
Job Description
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about maintaining a safe working environment. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Operating off-road trucks, dump trucks, and articulated dump trucks with precision and care.
- Maintaining dust control on access roads, equipment haul roads, and public dumping areas.
- Monitoring Leachate tank and/or sump pump levels to prevent environmental hazards.
- Watering and compacting freshly placed dirt to ensure optimal site conditions.
- Performing routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles to guarantee they are in top working condition.
- Ensuring proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Promoting continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To excel in this role, you will need:
- A High school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid Class C driver's license.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of computer skills.
- An eligible motor vehicle report, background check, and clean drug screen.
