Finley Buttes Landfill, a leading waste management company in Oregon, seeks a highly skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. As a critical member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our heavy equipment fleet.

Estimated Salary: $25.12/hour

Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about maintaining a safe working environment. Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Operating off-road trucks, dump trucks, and articulated dump trucks with precision and care.
  • Maintaining dust control on access roads, equipment haul roads, and public dumping areas.
  • Monitoring Leachate tank and/or sump pump levels to prevent environmental hazards.
  • Watering and compacting freshly placed dirt to ensure optimal site conditions.
  • Performing routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles to guarantee they are in top working condition.
  • Ensuring proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Promoting continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:
  • A High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid Class C driver's license.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of computer skills.
  • An eligible motor vehicle report, background check, and clean drug screen.
