Position Overview

As a vital member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for addressing and resolving guest maintenance requests efficiently. Your role will involve:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responding promptly to maintenance issues reported by guests.

  • Performing visual inspections of machinery and equipment.
  • Identifying and operating shut-off valves for all equipment.

Technical Skills:

Demonstrating advanced skills in reading blueprints and electrical schematics, particularly in plumbing and HVAC systems. You should possess:
  • Proficiency in at least three technical categories, with above-average skills in three additional areas, and basic knowledge in the remaining fields, including:
    • Air conditioning and refrigeration
    • Electrical systems
    • Mechanical systems
    • Plumbing
    • Pneumatic/electronic systems
    • Carpentry
    • Kitchen equipment
    • Energy conservation
    • General building management
Safety and Compliance:

Ensure all maintenance work adheres to safety standards and company policies. Responsibilities include:
  • Performing complex repairs on electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Utilizing the Lockout/Tagout system before commencing maintenance tasks.
  • Maintaining knowledge of engineering computer programs related to preventative maintenance and energy management.
Collaboration and Communication:

Fostering positive relationships with team members and effectively communicating maintenance issues and solutions. Responsibilities include:
  • Training and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Performing Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including conducting rounds and readings.
  • Maintaining a professional appearance and upholding company standards in guest interactions.
Qualifications:

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent with vocational training in relevant fields.

Experience:
Extensive background in general maintenance, electrical systems, and refrigeration, with a minimum of two years in hotel engineering or maintenance roles.

Licenses:
Valid Driver's License and Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification are required.
