Electrical Systems Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Controls Specialist to join our team at TheMasonGroup.
This role involves designing and programming complex electrical systems, as well as mentoring junior-level engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical and automated control systems for machines and processes.
- Mentor and train junior-level engineers to ensure they have the necessary skills to succeed in their roles.
- Integrate control and information solutions using Allen-Bradley and Rockwell Automation.
- Program PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems to meet project requirements.
- Select hardware and formulate engineering designs based on project requirements.
- Review system designs for compliance with engineering best practices, regulations, and company standards.
- Develop and perform factory acceptance test plans for completed systems.
- Conduct site acceptance tests at client job sites.
- Provide PLC and HMI programming field support.
- Assist the engineering manager with programming and FAT scheduling, resolving engineering design and testing problems, and performing design reviews.
- Assist the Sales Department in selecting components and estimating engineering scope on quotations.
- Provide project management assistance for control systems.
- Direct and coordinate the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems on field installations.
- Utilize AutoCAD and ERP systems to perform engineering and project management tasks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in design, development, programming, and field commissioning.
- Direct engineering leadership experience or a desire to transition into a leadership role.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, including P&IDs, sequence of operations, and technical specifications.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts to tasks such as determining test reliability and validity, analyzing variance, and correlation techniques.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
- Ability to safely and effectively lift, carry, and move objects of varying weights.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, balance, stand, and walk for extended periods and maintain physical dexterity and coordination.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
