The Fire Sprinkler Foreman is responsible for overseeing the installation of fire sprinkler systems in newly constructed structures and renovations to existing structures with minimal supervision. This role requires strong leadership and technical skills to ensure the successful completion of projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Project Management: Coordinate and manage all assigned projects with the superintendent, general contractor, and employees to ensure timely completion and adherence to budget.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and train sprinkler fitters and sprinkler apprentices on all aspects of their job, including safety protocols and company policies.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all work areas remain clean, safe, and orderly while working and at the end of the workday, and that all tools, equipment, and supplies are secured and accounted for.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with employees, customers, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Safety and Compliance: Understand and follow Summit Companies' safety program, SDS book, hazardous communication program, policies, and procedures, and participate in weekly toolbox talks.
- Documentation: Complete daily progress reports, including any accidents, changes in design due to field conditions, proposed changes in scope, and conflicts with design as related to existing conditions.
- Material Management: Ensure that all materials for a job are ordered and on site as required, and that materials are laid out or stored in a safe and orderly fashion in the designated location.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure that company-provided vehicles are clean and well-maintained in accordance with company policies.
- Education and Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent, required; NICET certification, preferred.
- Experience and Skills: 5-10 years' experience installing fire sprinkler systems, required; ability to work alone and as part of a team, construction experience, basic math skills, mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, customer service skills, decision-making skills, ability to multitask, ability to meet project schedules, ability to plan and organize, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to train others.
- Communication and Systems Skills: Ability to effectively read, write, and communicate in English with employees and customers; ability to operate a computer, tablet, and read electronic blueprints; experience with SalesForce and Microsoft Office, preferred.
- Physical and Work Environment Requirements: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job duties; frequent local travel and occasional regional and non-regional travel required; frequent work inside and outside in hot/cold temperatures and exposure to loud noises, cramped quarters, dust, fumes, and odors.
