Senior Medical Image Processing Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Medical Image Processing Scientist to join our team at Alphatec Spine. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in image processing, machine learning, and a keen interest in applying these skills to the field of medical imaging.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and improve image analysis technologies to register images from different modalities
- Develop 3D / 2D landmark detection from images using techniques such as deep learning, CNN, etc.
- Develop methods of testing to aid development of and quantify the accuracy of registrations
- Partner with marketing and development teams to drive the use of medical image processing and data science across the Alphatec Spine product line
- Participate in the development, validation, and delivery of algorithms
- Use machine learning and statistical skills in analyzing large datasets to extract actionable insights that inform model development, experimental design, and clinical or business decisions
- Design and build complex predictive models to address clinical and business questions
- Develop methods to leverage/extract/process/analyze complex, high volume, high-dimensional datasets from both internal and external sources
- Proactively report on status of development, quality, and risks to management
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Proficiency with programming languages such as Python, or C/C++
- Expertise in image processing and algorithm development for imaging technologies such as fluoroscopy, CT, etc.
- Experience with Radiography
- Fluent in statistical analysis, data mining, and machine learning
- Must be skilled at managing a significant workload and obtaining positive results, taking on additional responsibility and managing priorities as needed
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to produce accurate, punctual reports/information, as required and thoroughly share information with others
- Capable of creating and following realistic plans, goal setting, resource management, contingency planning, coordinating, and cooperating with others
- Experience working positively and productively in a team environment. Highly collaborative
- Develop 3D / 2D landmark detection from images using techniques such as deep learning, CNN, etc.
- Master's degree in a relevant quantitative discipline (e.g. in electronical engineering, computer science, applied math or a related field.)
- Ph.D. degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience in the fields of image processing

Salary RangeAlphatec Spine, Inc. complies with state and federal wage and hour laws and compensation depends upon candidate's qualifications, education, skill set, years of experience, and internal equity. $150,000 to $180,000 Full-Time Annual Salary
