Academic Transplant Nephrologist

The University of Missouri-Columbia, Karl D. Nolph, MD Division of Nephrology is actively seeking a dedicated full-time Transplant Nephrologist to enhance its Kidney Transplant Program.

The nephrology program at MU is esteemed both nationally and internationally for its outstanding contributions in teaching, patient care, and research. Our dialysis and transplant initiatives are fully accredited by U.S. regulatory bodies, and our fellowship training program holds recognition from the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Society of Nephrology.

Fellowship Program Highlights:

The Division of Nephrology has upheld an active ACGME-accredited nephrology fellowship program since 1969, with alumni practicing globally in various clinical and academic settings. The primary objective of our two-year training program is to offer advanced educational experiences to physicians in both clinical and investigative nephrology. The curriculum encompasses all facets of contemporary nephrology practice, including acute and chronic dialysis, ICU nephrology, medical management of renal transplant patients, hypertension, diabetic nephropathy, and other pertinent areas in clinical nephrology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Faculty members in this role will engage in a blend of patient care and medical education, collaborating with learners at various stages of their training.
  • Participate in patient selection for kidney transplants, manage kidney transplant clinics, oversee inpatient care for kidney transplant patients, and contribute to satellite clinic development and outreach initiatives.
  • Explore opportunities for involvement in clinical and/or translational research.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians and researchers in a multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an ACGME-Accredited Nephrology Fellowship is required.
  • Completion of an AST-certified Transplant Nephrology Fellowship is necessary.
  • Possession or eligibility for a Missouri medical license is required.
  • Demonstrated strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills.
