The Wellness Associate plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for Residents by delivering personalized care and support in accordance with their individual Service Plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, and mobility as required.
- Monitor and report any changes in Residents' physical and mental health to the Wellness Director promptly.
- Maintain an adequate supply of medical resources and assist in ordering when necessary.
- Help coordinate shift coverage in case of unexpected absences.
- Support the Wellness Director in managing assignments and responsibilities.
- Facilitate the orientation and onboarding process for new Wellness Associates.
- Respond to emergencies involving Residents, providing first aid and coordinating necessary medical follow-up.
- Assist Residents in maintaining a clean and organized living environment.
- Promptly address calls for assistance and attend to the needs of Residents.
- Support Residents with their clothing and laundry needs as directed.
- Assist with meal selection, service, and feeding as assigned.
- Participate in assigned activity programs.
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with established policies.
- Organize files as needed.
- Engage in a minimum of 6 hours of in-service education annually.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all emergency protocols.
- Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Communication:
- Effectively communicate with the Wellness Director and fellow staff members.
- Immediately inform the Wellness Director and/or Wellness Manager of any changes in a Resident's health status.
Qualifications:
- Current registration as a State Nurse's Aide.
- Demonstrated experience and a genuine passion for working with seniors.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including pushing, bending, and lifting up to 60 pounds.
- Capability to foster positive relationships with Residents, their families, colleagues, and other staff members.
- In good physical and emotional health, free from communicable diseases.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 60 pounds as needed.
- Capacity to stand for extended periods.
- May require the use of assistive devices such as a Hoyer Lift.
Additional Information:
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as required.
- Flexibility to work different shifts as necessary.
- Potential for extended hours, up to 16 hours per day.
- Exposure to infectious materials and conditions may occur.
- May encounter Residents with challenging behaviors due to mental health conditions.
- Background checks, including criminal and drug testing, may be conducted.
- Participation in random drug testing during employment may be required.
- Photography and video recording may occur for promotional purposes.
