As a key member of our perioperative care team, you will provide high-quality patient care and assist in the provision of surgical nursing care and treatment to a specified group of patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the provision of surgical nursing care and treatment to a specified group of patients.
  • Assess patient pre- and post-operatively from phase II anesthesia recovery through discharge.
  • Perform initial and ongoing nursing assessments.
  • Establish a coordinated plan of care in collaboration with the health care team.
  • Monitor progress of hospitalized patients and assist with discharge planning.
  • Initiate CPR and other emergency measures as required.
  • Focus on cost-effective ways to maximize wellness, prevent illness, disability and disease.
  • Function as a RN-first assist in tissue handling, providing exposure, using instruments, suturing, providing hemostasis and closing tissue and skin in operative setting.
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a Registered Nurse First Assist course.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification.
  • Two years of current clinical experience in the operating room or perioperative area.
Physical Requirements:

This role requires full range of motion; manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Standing and walking for extensive periods of time are also required. Corrected hearing and vision to normal range are necessary. Some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids is possible.

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
