About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team at Jobot. As a key member of our estimating department, you will be responsible for developing detailed cost estimates for industrial and heavy commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, equipment, materials, and subcontracts.
  • Utilize construction estimating software to accurately predict project costs and prepare competitive bids.
  • Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and other related documents to identify potential cost factors.
  • Coordinate pre-bid meetings and site visits to gain a thorough understanding of project requirements and challenges.
  • Prepare and issue Request for Information (RFI) documents to clarify project details and specifications.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other construction professionals to develop comprehensive project strategies.
  • Monitor and track project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budget.
  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Provide cost advice and guidance to clients and stakeholders as needed.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and new technologies to enhance estimating accuracy and efficiency.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software such as PlanSwift and EDGE.
  • Extensive knowledge of industrial construction and heavy commercial projects.
