Job Title: Residential Mentor PRN

Job Summary:

The Womens Home is seeking a compassionate and skilled Residential Mentor PRN to join our team. As a Residential Mentor PRN, you will play a vital role in providing a supportive and non-judgmental environment for our clients to regain their self-esteem and continue with their goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a welcoming and trauma-informed atmosphere for clients, promoting a sense of safety and security.
  • Work collaboratively with staff and clients to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with clients to monitor their progress and provide emotional support.
  • Assist clients with daily living tasks, such as meal preparation and household chores.
  • Coordinate evening activities, special programs, and outings to promote socialization and engagement.
  • Conduct random room searches and drug tests as needed.
  • Supervise client visitation and over-the-counter medication administration.
  • Transport clients in van and arrange for cab transportation services as needed.
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings and contribute to the development of new programs and services.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field.
  • Experience working with substance abuse, mental illness, or homelessness.
  • Valid Texas Driver's license with no outstanding warrants or tickets.
  • Mature and capable of making sound decisions in the absence of specific directives.
  • Ability to set and maintain good boundaries with clients.
  • No criminal background or history.

Working Conditions:

  • Staff will be based inside the main residence and share a desk, computer, and other standard office equipment.
  • Staff must be able to handle frequent walking inside the building and grounds.
  • Occasional lifting of 15-20 pounds may be required.
