We are seeking an exceptional Automated Battery Cell Analysis Expert to join our team at Tesla. In this role, you will develop and deploy cutting-edge algorithms to automate cell CT image analysis and ensure the reliability of new cell technologies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science, data engineering, or related fields, with expertise in Python, SQL, and deep learning techniques. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive program-level decision making and collaborate on failure analysis to understand root causes and resolve issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deploy advanced metrology algorithms for cell CT image analysis
  • Lead the cell CT image analysis process to ensure high-confidence outcomes
  • Collaborate on failure analysis efforts to understand root causes and drive resolution of jelly roll fallouts

Requirements:

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Expertise in Python, SQL, and deep learning techniques
  • Familiarity with image processing and feature extraction
  • Strong understanding of battery cell failure modes and electrochemistry is a plus
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Proven problem-solving skills and attention to detail
