Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Representative to join our team at Sonic Automotive. As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for selling vehicles and meeting dealership gross profit, volume, and customer satisfaction standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure that every customer leaves the dealership satisfied with their purchase experience.
  • Vehicle Sales: Determine each customer's vehicle needs by asking questions and listening, demonstrate vehicles (including test drives), and deliver vehicles to customers.
  • Personal Income Goals: Establish personal income goals that are consistent with dealership standards of productivity and devise a strategy to meet those goals.
  • Reporting and Communication: Report to the vehicle Sales Manager regarding objectives, planned activities, reviews, and analyses.
  • Product Knowledge: Keep abreast of incoming inventory, features, accessories, etc., and how they benefit customers.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with the service department and body shop to ensure that vehicles are reconditioned as expected and on schedule.
  • Professional Development: Attend sales meetings and training offered by the dealership and the manufacturer.
  • Prospect Development: Maintain a prospect development system.
  • Customer Follow-up: Maintain an owner follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business.
  • Performance Analysis: Review and analyze actions at the end of each day, week, month, and year to determine how to better utilize time and plan more effectively.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understand the terminology of the automobile business and keep abreast of technological changes in the product.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Know and understand federal, state, and local laws which govern retail auto sales.
  • Service Department Introduction: Introduce customers to service department personnel to emphasize the quality and efficiency of service repairs and maintenance available in the dealership's service department.
  • Company Safety Policies: Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information, and excellent communication skills.
  • Driver's License: Valid in-state driver's license.
  • Professional Appearance: Professional personal appearance.
  • Sales Performance: Ability to sell a minimum quota according to dealership standards.
  • Authorization to Work: All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA.
  • Safe Work Practices: All applicants must perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner.
  • Pre-Employment Testing: All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver's license.
