Job OverviewAt Hired by Matrix, we're seeking a highly skilled Investment Accounting Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our investment portfolios.Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and reconcile transactions, valuations, and cash distributions across multiple portfolios and custodian banks.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in portfolio holdings, terms, and transactions to provide proactive oversight and support.
  • Collaborate with third-party service providers to ensure accurate posting of activity to our general ledger and Investran system.
  • Prepare and review monthly performance reports, including valuations, cash balances, and derivatives.
  • Verify investor capital account balances, NAV allocations, and capital activity on a regular basis.
  • Support daily cash reconciliations with custodian banks and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.
  • Provide exceptional support to investment management, investors, and internal stakeholders, responding to ad-hoc requests and escalating time-sensitive correspondence.
  • Assist with product, regulatory, and other audits, as well as prepare materials for periodic board meetings and review offering documents.
  • Work closely with internal and external parties to ensure high-quality service and resolve service issues efficiently.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3-5 years of investment accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in alternative investment operations is a plus.
  • Knowledge of hedge fund or private equity fund accounting, or experience with Investran, is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to effectively communicate findings verbally and in writing.
  • Detail-oriented and highly motivated, with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
