Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Seagull Schools Inc. as a Preschool Teacher. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing an educational program that aligns with our school's goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Management
    • Ensure the assigned classroom is maintained in a clean and organized manner.
    • Keep a well-organized and orderly environment with materials and equipment easily accessible to the children.
    • Maintain materials and equipment in good condition and report any damage or needed repairs to the Director.
  • Childcare
    • Oversee the health, welfare, and safety of the children in the assigned group.
    • Conduct daily health checks and take appropriate action in case of a child's illness or accident.
    • Supervise children during breakfast, lunch, and snack time activities.
    • Supervise children on the playground and ensure adequate staff coverage for maximum safety.
  • Instruction
    • Develop and implement educational programs that meet the needs of the children in the assigned group.
    • Teach strategies and implement appropriate curriculum for the age level of the group.
    • Provide for alternating periods of indoor and outdoor play, quiet and active play, and self-selected and teacher-directed learning experiences.
    • Keep a weekly plan book of daily schedules and curriculum programs, skills activities, and goals.
  • Communication
    • Prepare required reports pertaining to the group of children and individuals.
    • Keep progress reports on individual children and hold parent conferences.
    • Submit twice-yearly progress reports to parents and maintain a record file.
  • Staff
    • Report to work on time and maintain a valid first aid certificate and CPR certificate.
    • Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings.
    • Be a role model for assistants and aides.
  • Other
    • Participate in parent education programs as required by the Director.
    • Keep abreast of trends in early childhood education through additional college work, professional workshops, and membership in professional organizations.
