Job Summary

The Physician - Women's Health Specialist will provide comprehensive primary and urgent care as part of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department. The successful candidate will specialize in women's reproductive healthcare issues and prenatal care, providing female care from puberty to preconception through childbirth, delivery, postpartum, and menopause.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform initial examinations to assess baseline health, diagnose, and prescribe appropriate treatments.
  • Perform wellness exams and diagnostic tests such as pap smears, pelvic exams, and breast exams.
  • Document family and medical history.
  • Explain complex medical conditions in simple terms.
  • Diagnose and prescribe treatments for disorders and conditions affecting women's health.
  • Order diagnostic tests to identify or rule out disease or infection.
  • Collaborate with medical and non-medical staff to promote positive outcomes.
  • Provide prenatal, labor, delivery, and postnatal medical care.
  • Educate and provide vaccinations when benefits outweigh risks.
  • Explain the childbirth process to expectant parents and family.
  • Educate patients on sexual health, hygiene, and reproductive choices.
  • Counsel patients on management and treatment of menstrual problems.
  • Evaluate menopausal signs and symptoms, including ordering tests for diagnosis and treatment.
  • Perform follow-up care as required.
  • Provide childbirth services and postpartum care for new mothers.
  • Liaise with other medical staff to ensure continuity of care.
  • Perform care after sexual trauma, including tests, counseling, and reporting to authorities if requested by the victim or required by law.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of medical records.
  • Provide clinical reporting to the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Supervise, advise, and support clinical staff development with current approved procedures and protocols.
  • Ensure best practice in line with clinical guidelines and SOPs.
  • Support the clinical excellence framework under direction from the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Provide liaison with external agencies as required to promote continuity of care and professional referral/patient handover.
Requirements
  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience post-board certification.
  • Demonstrated experience in executive-level interpersonal skills and ability to work in a matrix environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience on a military site, working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred.
Education Requirements
  • Current and unrestricted license from any US State, District of Columbia, or US Territory to provide healthcare within scope of practice.
  • Graduated from an approved medical school and completed a residency or fellowship as a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Osteopathy (D.O.) from a school in the United States or Canada approved by a recognized accrediting body in the year of the applicant's graduation.
  • Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • DEA license.
Other Special Qualifications
  • Common Access Card (CAC) or ability to obtain one.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
  • This position is accompanied. No pets.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
  • US DOS clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.
  • Must be able to relocate to Qatar.
  • A valid passport is required and must be in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay in Qatar.
