Payment Processing Specialist

The Patient Services Specialist is a key member of our team, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities- Reconcile and investigate balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies
- Validate payments and deposits to ensure correct application to patient accounts
- Analyze EOB information to ensure accuracy of patient balances and identify areas for improvement
- Apply manual and auto payments to patient accounts for various payor types
- Investigate unidentified payments and contact senders as necessary to ensure correct posting
- Reconcile shortages on paper and electronic EOBs to determine proper allowance and correct write-offs
- Assist in updating the Direct Deposit Daily and performing comparisons of downloaded files
- Set up Electronic Remittance Advices (ERA) for Commercial and Medicare payors
- Run and balance credit cards daily and send batch reconciliation information to the Finance department
- Perform other duties as assigned, including researching inquiries and resolving escalated customer concerns
