About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and patient-focused Patient Service Specialist to join our team at NovaCare Rehabilitation. As a key member of our front desk team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our patients receive exceptional care and service from the moment they arrive at our center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Advocacy: Greet new and existing patients, register new patients, and provide information about what to expect during their visit.
  • Scheduling: Schedule patient appointments in person or over the phone, ensuring that our patients receive timely and convenient access to our services.
  • Communication: Regularly communicate with various parties, including attorney offices, insurance companies, translation companies, market operational leaders, and business development teams.
  • Financial Management: Collect co-pays from patients, manage payer approvals, and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications.
  • Patient Support: Provide patients with pertinent information about their next appointment as they check out, and respond to requests for information from patients, providers, and coworkers.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: 1 year of front desk experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
Physical Requirements
  • Physical Ability: Ability to walk, stand, bend, and reach consistently throughout a work day/shift.
  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to type (including 10-key) throughout a work day/shift.
  • Lifting: Ability to lift up to 25lbs, safely, from ground to waist using proper body mechanics.
  • Visual Acuity: Visual acuity (near and distant) sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people, and understand written direction.
  • Communication: Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give directions.
