About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RN OR/Surgery Leader to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our surgical services team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and leading a team of nurses in the operating room.

Responsibilities
  • Effectively use the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
  • Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of the patient, family, and other groups or disciplines.
  • Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly and serve as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
  • Use data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Embracing concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale and improvement in the profession of nursing.
  • Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
Requirements
  • Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Preferred - Certification in clinical specialty area.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to be detailed oriented.
  • Good time management skills and ability to be work in a fast paced environment and be self-directed.
  • Good interpersonal, leadership, and delegation skills and ability to demonstrate good judgement and supervise or manage others.
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
