RN - Hematology/Oncology Team Lead

As a Registered Nurse Lead in our Hematology/Oncology department, you will be responsible for leading a team of staff members in all operational functions. This includes developing and implementing improvements in the organization and delivery of high-quality, cost-effective services. You will also be responsible for access to and the flow of patients and their treatments.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Hem/Onc Infusion team in all operational functions, including developing and implementing improvements in the organization and delivery of high-quality, cost-effective services.
- Responsible for access to and the flow of patients and their treatments.
- Oversee all aspects of the infusion suite area, including operational, quality processes, and initiatives.
- Monitor customer satisfaction, infusion wait times, and other measurable parameters that represent indicators of departmental performance improvement.
- Perform duties of the staff nurse within area of expertise.
- Work in partnership as part of the team of clerical and nursing staff, and clinic support for the benefit of the patient.
- Set and manage staffing schedules for the staff you oversee.
- Effectively manage people, resources, and time in partnership with other team leaders to achieve results, shares resources as appropriate.
- Adjust resources as needed to cover chemotherapy infusions and medical infusions respectively.
- Identify and implement ways to reduce costs and streamline efforts within and between clinic areas while maintaining quality standards.
- Adjust to changing work needs and demands; helps others respond quickly; helps remove barriers to team effectiveness.
- Participate in Outpatient Clinical Council meetings and is on the Beacon Team meetings to advise on the Nursing components of Treatment.
- Act as mentor, teacher, and coach to others, including new employees, while maintaining their orientation folders and oversight; actively uses the team performance management process.
- Ensure infusion staff complete all required chemotherapy and biotherapy competencies.
- Ensure all required performance improvement and quality control documentation is completed for assigned sections.
- Identify QC deficiencies, initiate and monitor corrective actions.
- Participate in the interview and selection process for team members.
- Minimum of 2 years RN work experience is required.
- Previous Hematology/Oncology experience is preferred.
- Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required).
- Basic Life Support Certification (Required).
- Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) (Required).
