Key Responsibilities:

In this position, you will engage in the analysis, design, development, maintenance, and support of various data applications. You will be tasked with comprehending business needs and converting them into comprehensive technical documentation that will guide ETL Developers and other stakeholders. The Senior Data Integration Developer will be responsible for creating essential software components and collaborating with diverse teams within the organization to architect and develop proof of concept modules that can be integrated into broader solutions or expanded as necessary to fulfill various business functions. Additionally, you will conduct code reviews and offer mentorship to team members.

Core Duties:
  • Engage in critical tasks throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirement gathering, technical design documentation, code development, leading code reviews, testing, and implementation support.
  • Develop and refine technical documents to assist developers in their coding efforts.
  • Design, prototype, develop, and document ETL components.
  • Conduct code reviews, document issues, and communicate necessary actions.
  • Assist in project planning and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with technical leads, other Senior Data Integration Developers, system architects, subject matter experts, product owners, project managers, developers, technical support teams, and testing teams to deliver business value.
  • Create ETL components that align with business functional requirements while adhering to budget constraints and quality standards.
  • Perform unit testing of ETL components and document the results.
  • Support all testing activities, including Development Integration Testing, System Testing, User Acceptance Testing, End-to-End Testing, and Performance Testing.
  • Document processes within operational runbooks.
  • Participate in code and documentation reviews for ETL components.
  • Support and validate code implementations.
  • Create schema and data modification scripts as needed.
  • Provide troubleshooting support for ETL components.
Production Support:
  • Support the operations of existing applications.
  • Respond promptly to emergency production inquiries, issues, and defects when on call.
  • Adhere to established production support processes.
Application Maintenance:
  • Participate in periodic maintenance releases of applications, including enhancements and defect resolutions.
  • Seek opportunities to improve application design for better maintainability and software reuse.
  • Identify ways to incrementally enhance the architecture of legacy systems.
Business Alignment:
  • Involve users in the development and maintenance of applications (e.g., requirements, testing).
  • Understand user interactions with applications.
  • Anticipate future user needs when architecting solutions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Business Administration.
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL and ETL processes.
  • Ability to create technical documentation.
  • Experience in conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback.
  • Self-motivated and organized individual capable of meeting commitments.
  • Ability to mentor and guide others.
  • Experience in developing, maintaining, and supporting ETL processes and documentation.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey information clearly and accurately.
  • Adherence to established coding and naming conventions.
  • In-depth understanding of the Life Insurance industry.
  • Compliance with team, program, and product policies and procedures.
  • High attention to detail and a professional demeanor.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to deliver assignments on time.
  • Proficient in creating detailed technical design specifications to meet business requirements.
  • Willingness to mentor and guide team members.
  • Extensive ETL Development experience using tools such as Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica IICS.
  • Hands-on experience with complex SQL and relational databases like SQL Server, MySQL, and Postgres.
  • Expertise in writing, maintaining, testing, and debugging T-SQL code.
  • Experience with design and implementation across a wide range of services on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Experience in migrating RDBMS (SQL Server/Oracle) from on-premises to AWS (Aurora/Redshift).
  • Solid understanding of various Data Management and Data Pipeline tools available in AWS.
  • Familiarity with primary AWS Services such as S3, Lambda, Batch, Glue, Athena, EC2, EBS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, ECS, ECR, EMR, IAM, and SNS.
  • Good understanding of implementing data warehouses in the Cloud.
  • Ability to deliver quality code while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent data analysis skills.
  • Attention to detail while remaining adaptable to a dynamic environment and shifting priorities.
