Position Overview:

The Audiologist is responsible for conducting comprehensive audiological assessments that aid in identifying various hearing impairments. This role involves the interpretation of test outcomes and collaboration with healthcare professionals to provide recommendations regarding auditory conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts thorough evaluations of hearing capabilities, offering prevention, habilitation, and rehabilitation services for auditory issues.
  • Performs physical examinations of the ear's external structures.
  • Engages in procedures such as ear cleaning, fitting and dispensing hearing aids, assessing cochlear implants, and conducting electrophysiological evaluations of auditory and vestibular systems.
  • Provides counseling to patients with hearing impairments and their families, explaining the nature of the disorder and management strategies.
  • Generates reports and integrates audiological findings with other diagnostic information, including educational, medical, and behavioral data.
  • Kaiser Permanente reserves the right to review and modify job descriptions and compensation structures periodically.
Qualifications:

Experience:
  • Minimum of one (1) year in audiological assessment and related services.
Education:
  • Master's degree or Clinical Doctorate in Audiology (AuD) required prior to employment.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • California Audiologist License or Temporary Audiologist License required upon hire.
  • National Provider Identifier necessary at the time of hire.
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association required at hire.
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to function effectively in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
  • If involved in dispensing hearing aids, a Dispensing Audiologist license is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least one (1) year of post-licensure experience in audiology.
Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position with a standard work schedule. The role requires availability during regular business hours, Monday through Friday.
