Job Summary:

Sierra Vista Child & Family Services is seeking a qualified Behavioral Health Specialist I to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Arts degree from an accredited program and two years of related experience. This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, with one position being on call. The Behavioral Health Specialist I will work with individuals, groups, and communities to improve mental health as part of a treatment team. They will provide rehabilitation-focused services on Intensive Home-Based Services (IHBS) and Intensive Care Coordination (ICC), including facilitation of Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings.

Responsibilities:
1. Provide direct IHBS, ICC, and CFT services to clients.
2. Provide rehabilitation services focused on individualized treatment plans for clients.
3. Provide group, individual, and family services for clients.
4. Provide services to families when needed, including non-traditional hours.
5. Provide school consultation when appropriate.
6. Keep comprehensive clinical records that meet standards of the agency, The Joint Commission, and contract.
7. Collaborate with the treatment team, referring agency, or other community agencies working with the client to coordinate treatment.
8. Collect outcome data, including consumer satisfaction surveys, as required by the agency and contract.
9. Implement program goals and objectives to meet and maintain contractual requirements and productivity.
10. Participate in monthly peer review.
11. Attend staff trainings.
12. Responsible for preventing and controlling infection.
13. Responsible for maintaining a culture of quality and safety.
14. Effectively use de-escalation skills and techniques for crisis prevention.
15. Properly administer the C-SSRS to help prevent suicide.

Requirements:
1. Bachelor of Arts degree from an accredited program and two years of related experience.
2. One year of experience in a treatment setting preferred.
3. Bilingual preferred.
4. Valid California driver's license with less than two minor moving violations.
5. Physical, mental, and emotional health adequate to perform duties.
6. Knowledge of mental health programs and community resources.
7. Adherence to all applicable legal and ethical standards.
8. Ability to work effectively with cultural/ethnic diversity.
9. Ability to work at various locations, including client homes, schools, and community settings.
10. Sound personal qualifications, including maturity, stability, high moral standards, and sound mental health and physical ability to perform job duties.

Working Conditions:
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The Behavioral Health Specialist I will be required to work at various locations, including client homes, schools, and community settings. They will also be required to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends.
