Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Analyst to engage in comprehensive engineering assessments utilizing principles of stress analysis, fluid dynamics, and thermal transfer phenomena.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth engineering evaluations to ensure the structural integrity of various systems under standard operational and emergency conditions.
  • Employ both manual calculations and advanced software tools, including finite element analysis, to assess linear and non-linear mechanical components.
  • Analyze structural behavior in response to various dynamic loads, including thermal-hydraulic pressure fluctuations, vibrations, and seismic activities.
  • Determine specifications for pressure relief valves and pump capacities within fluid transport systems.

This role involves delivering engineering solutions in accordance with ProSidian Consulting, LLC's established methodologies and regulatory frameworks.

Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Mechanics.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a valid Professional Engineer license or equivalent experience of 20 years.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the design and evaluation of nuclear or industrial infrastructures.
  • Proficient in software tools such as AUTOPIPE, ANSYS, ABAQUS, PVElite, COMPRESS, or comparable applications.
  • Familiarity with national engineering codes and standards, including ASME VIII, API-579, ASME B31, NFPA-13, SMACNA, ASME AG-1, IBC, and AISC.
  • Capability to perform on-site inspections of mechanical systems.
