Maintenance III Job Description

This is a full-time, hourly position at ADM Animal Nutrition in Springfield, MO.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance III is responsible for performing scheduled maintenance inspections and lubrication on plant equipment, documenting inspection and service activity, scheduling and prioritizing maintenance tasks, repairing and replacing equipment as needed, and troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, and steam systems.

  • Electrical, Hydraulic, Steam Systems Troubleshooting
  • Order and inventory parts and equipment as directed
Requirements:
  • Promotes the ADM Way and Core Values
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Technical training/equivalent experience in: Steam systems, drives, pneumatics
  • Working knowledge of 3 phase 480 volt electrical systems
  • Ability to perform cutting, welding, and fabrication
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and team lift heavier items
  • Ability to handle exposure to variable temperatures as well as noise and dust conditions
  • Availability to work overtime as needed
  • Comfortable with basic computer navigation for use with HMIs and Operating systems
  • Ability to work at heights, don fall protection, drive a forklift, perform LOTO, etc. after training has been completed
  • Experience in an animal feed production facility or grain elevator environment a plus
  • Previous mechanical and/or electrical maintenance preferred
Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Housekeeping in the facility is to be performed according to the ADM Animal Nutrition, Springfield Plant Housekeeping plan. Other housekeeping duties are to be completed as assigned.
  2. Safely and efficiently operate all necessary equipment at all times (i.e. fork truck, etc) in a manner so not to harm yourself, your fellow employees, and the equipment. Follow all established plant safety rules and Life Critical Standards.
  3. Work overtime as required and scheduled. Call-in schedule will be posted monthly and you may be called-in to repair and/or troubleshoot production equipment overnight.
  4. Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager, Asst. Plant Manager, or Lead Person.
  5. Must be able to easily lift all materials, as the job requires. Lifting ability must be at least 55 pounds from the floor to a minimum height of 50 inches. Must be able to climb ladders.
  6. Follow all plant rules of conduct at all times.
  7. Attend plant meetings and trainings as required.
  8. Train and/or communicate with operators on machine changes or operations as needed.
  9. Work and communicate with external contractors on a regular basis. Ensure contractors are following facility and ADM safety rules.
