Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the department's operating budget in support of the group or office operating budget and forecast updates.
  • Manage, grow, and develop discipline-specific engineering departments, coordinating department activities, establishing priorities, and assigning staff to projects.
  • Support the implementation of the firm's strategic plan and HNTB's Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA) process on project pursuits in the department and office.
  • Support the implementation of the firm's contracting HNTB's Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA) process through project delivery and contracting activities.
  • Support the implementation of the firm's project delivery HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) process, including Work Planning, Monthly Project Reviews, and other project performance methods.
  • Assist in marketing responsibilities, including client discovery, proposal generation, interviews, and win-to-work activities.
  • Maintain client contacts to ensure client satisfaction and lead sales and marketing efforts for department growth.
  • Recruit, hire, develop, and retain department staff, including development of plans for staff reporting, performance, and compensation reviews, and succession.
  • Actively manage assigned project management activities and perform technical discipline tasks, including research, reports, design, specifications, and plan preparation.

Requirements

  • In lieu of education, 14 years of relevant experience.
  • 4 years supervisory experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • Resident Engineer (RE) experience.
  • Knowledge of LADOTD Specifications.
  • Alternative Delivery Project Experience (DB, PPP, CMAR).
  • Experience with LA Clients (LADOTD, CPRA, East Baton Rouge Parish, Ascension Parish, Jefferson Parish, Orleans Parish, NO DPW, USACE).
