Ministry Program Coordinator

Job Objective: Support the Corps Officers with essential administrative tasks, provide guidance for Corps initiatives, assist in fundraising activities, and contribute to various special projects and seasonal events, while offering additional assistance to Corps Officers.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support
- Act as a backup for the switchboard operator
- Set and prioritize work tasks effectively
- Assist in organizing board meetings and other gatherings
- Keep bulletin boards and magazine displays updated
- Support program staff in preparing Corps activities, including Sunday School, Bible Study, Older Adult Ministries, Women's Ministries, and Youth Programs
- Manage mailing lists and databases
- Maintain filing and correspondence systems in accordance with organizational policies
Leadership in Corps Programs
- Lead and/or assist Corps leaders in various events, including but not limited to:
- Older adult programs
- Youth initiatives
- Sunday School
- Women's Ministries
- Plan and execute activities for older adults that connect participants with the Corps
- Provide transportation for various programs using Corps vehicles
- Oversee program resources, ensuring cleanliness and organization of storage areas
Fundraising, Special Projects, and Seasonal Events
- Summer Camp:
- Facilitate opportunities for potential participants to attend camps by providing necessary information and registration forms
- Ensure timely completion and submission of camp forms
- Assist with other special projects and seasonal events
- Coordinate initiatives such as Angel Tree, toy distribution, food drives, and holiday assistance programs
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Corps Officer
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: At least one year of clerical and administrative experience; prior experience with youth is preferred
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse population
- Non-judgmental approach, respecting clients' rights to self-determination
- Strong judgment, reasoning, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Effective communication skills in standard English, both written and verbal; bilingual (Spanish and English) is preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities
- Strong organizational skills and follow-through
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Proficient in operating basic office equipment and Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Publisher, and Outlook
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Physical Requirements: Includes sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, and twisting intermittently; ability to lift objects up to 25 lbs.; reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals to perform essential functions.
Travel: Local travel required
Driving: A valid driver's license is required; must be approved through the organization's Fleet Safety Program to drive on business.
Working Conditions: Work is conducted in a standard office environment; some weekend and evening work may be necessary.
