Position Summary
The Clinical Pharmacist at ATC White Plains will operate under the general oversight of the Director of Pharmacy Services, taking charge of the management of appropriate antibiotic therapies utilized within the healthcare facility. This role encompasses the oversight of critical care and high-risk patients, ensuring effective collaboration and consultation with fellow healthcare professionals regarding the therapeutic application of antibiotics and other medications for patients within their designated area of responsibility. Additionally, the Clinical Pharmacist will provide essential education and training for healthcare professionals engaged in this clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Adhering to the established Performance Standards, Policies, and Behavioral Expectations of the organization.
- Enhancing the monitoring and management of the clinical pharmacy antibiotic service, focusing on critical care or high-risk groups to implement interventions that elevate the quality and cost-effectiveness of patient care.
- Fostering the professional development of pharmacy staff by offering clinical leadership and educational opportunities as needed.
- Collaborating effectively with colleagues in all tasks to meet organizational goals, promoting positive interpersonal and team relationships.
- Innovating and generating new ideas to enhance performance, service quality, and overall patient care, including thorough evaluation of options and involving relevant stakeholders in decision-making processes.
- Taking personal accountability for all work-related activities and actions, ensuring follow-through on commitments and acknowledging any mistakes without placing blame on others.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy with a PharmD degree.
- Current registration as a pharmacist in New York State.
Preferred:
- Completion of a PGY1 residency with board certification; PGY2 residency is highly desirable.
Clinical Experience:
- Experience with CCU/ICU patient rounds.
- Patient counseling for conditions such as CHF and COPD.
- Investigation and reporting of medication errors.
Core Competencies:
- Ability to interpret, understand, and communicate effectively in both written and verbal English.
- Professional demeanor and capacity to serve as a role model.
- Maintaining composure under stress.
Physical and Mental Demands:
Must be capable of ambulating or remaining stationary for extended periods, performing intricate manual tasks requiring hand-eye coordination. Must also meet all regulatory requirements related to physical capabilities.
Ability to concentrate on detailed tasks for extended periods, with the capacity to understand complex concepts and remember multiple tasks throughout the day.
Exposure to necessary chemicals may occur; all hazardous materials are documented in the hospital's Safety Data Sheet database.
Primary Population Served:
Experience with a diverse patient population, including neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, as well as those with specific communication and cultural needs.
