Job Summary

The Jenks Public Schools Community Education Childcare Programs is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Master Teacher to join our team. As a Master Teacher, you will play a vital role in collaborating with our team to develop and implement curriculum, while managing the day-to-day operational activities for your group of students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development: Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
  • Leadership and Coaching: Lead by example, encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
  • Activity Planning: Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all program policies and state regulations are met.
  • Classroom Environment: Ensure a healthy classroom/group environment, including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
  • Supervision: Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records, forms, and files.
  • Professional Development: Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
  • Experience: Professional child care experience is recommended but not required.
  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • Teamwork: High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • Child Development: A strong understanding of child development.
  • Certifications: Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Background Check: Must clear a full background check and must pass a health screening.
  • Education: Associate's Degree in early childhood education, CDA, or Certificate of Mastery or related field of study with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE.
  • Physical Demands: Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools, or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat, or crawl.
  • Vision: A specific vision ability will be required, including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
